Boom Shankar is the creation of Owner and Designer Dui Cameron. Drawing its name from a Hindu word used to bless, Boom Shankar has grown and evolved since its beginnings in 1996.

Dui’s love of travel and of experiencing different cultures is apparent in her designs. Originally inspired by her deep connection with India, Boom Shankar retains a magical blend of textiles that are antique and contemporary, eastern and western, cool and funky.

“My vision is to deliver colour, comfort and style … for every woman to feel like a goddess!”

This season delivers a range that includes Boom Shankar classics as well as pieces that are retro inspired. Think 1950s, 60s and 70s classic Aussie kitsch, with a bit of Boom Shankar glamour thrown in. In hand-printed, Dui-designed fabrics, you can live a little nostalgia while looking very 2008.

Boom Shankar’s business operation includes the ethos that it is important to ‘give back’. Dui runs the Clean Water for India Project, which to date has raised funds for three bores in draught stricken Rajasthan, and a water purifying system for a school in Hasanpura, Jaipur.
