Boom Shankar operates with a strong social conscience having supported many Australian charities and schools as well as projects in India.
We have partnered with Forget Me Not, who work with local organisations in Nepal, India and Uganda to reunite trafficked kids with their families and provides support to help keep families together. As of June 2023, our donations have helped to reunite more than 700 children with their families.
OTHER CHARITY INITIATIVES
Uniforms 4 Kids is an initiative that repurposes pre-loved clothing for children in need. It is a local charity based in Cooroy so very close to home for us!
We work with Uniform 4 Kids on an ongoing basis and donate faulty stock and old sample items which are then re-sewn into children’s clothing by a group of passionate volunteers. This is another way for our brand to help those in need and reduce our impact on the environment.
We are proud to say that with the support of our amazing Boom customers who purchased a Dog Mum Jumper, we raised $3,050 for the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge!
We were lucky enough to pop by and visit the SCARS team to present them with the donation, which will go towards providing essential vet care for dogs with serious health issues.
Beyond DV empowers women and children to rebuild their lives after experiencing family and domestic violence, through recovery programs and services.
In March 2024, we partnered with Beyond DV for International Women's Day and donated over 1,400 garments to women recovering from DV situations, rebuilding their lives, reclaiming their self-confidence, and rediscovering their sense of style and identity.

Thread Together is an Australian-based charity that redistributes brand-new but end-of-line clothing items from fashion retailers to people in need.
In 2022 we donated 2,411 pieces of clothing to Thread Together.
We raised $4485 to help our Boom family in India affected by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. India is Dui's second home and Boom Shankar wouldn't exist without the amazing work of our Indian artisans, so we are doing all we can to support them in their time of need.
Together, with the help of all our wonderful customers who purchased one of our fun Hello Possum jumpers, we raised $4,050 which will be donated to AWC and their endless projects working across 6.5 million hectares to rescue and rejuvenate endangered wildlife in Australia.
