India. The country that has touched so many souls with its rawness, colour and vibrancy, and right now needs our collective help. While many in Australia have been affected by COVID 19, countries like India that have little government assistance and face other humanitarian problems, are really feeling the effects of the pandemic now in its second wave.
Boom Shankar’s Founder and Designer Dui has spent the past 27 years living in India, with a house, farm and family in Rajasthan. It’s her second home and holds a special place in her heart. With Dui's friends and extended family over there directly suffering from the pandemic and lockdowns, as well as the wider Indian community, we want to help in any way we can.
Dui has personally chosen Give India as a charity partner, as they are doing amazing work on the ground to help save lives. Give India first set up a Covid Response Fund in April 2020, to provide relief to the mammoth humanitarian crisis that unfolded when the pandemic first began. Since the devastating second wave hit in 2021, Give India has once again mobilised to help those suffering and struggling to cope with the crisis. This includes supporting overwhelmed health infrastructure where patients are scrambling for beds, oxygen and recommended medicines to treat coronavirus infection, as well as providing meals and ration kits to communities who are struggling to make ends meet.
We’re all connected, we’re all humans, and we’re all family. We are so extremely grateful for any and all support you can give to help us help India.
